This Cambridge concept pub, based on the 1830s beer houses, has been voted by the Observer food monthly awards as the runner up for best place to drink and the runner up for the best place for Sunday lunch. So what is the hubbub all about?
With 10 keg and 6 cask constantly rotating lines that are pouring craft beer from UK brewers such as The Kernel, Wild Beer Co and Cloudwater there is definitely something for everyone. The added bonus is that there is a variety of styles available and you can buy 1/3 pints if you would like as well.
Just like the beers the food is constantly changing with the seasons. The chefs choose to source local ingredients and use them when they are at their best. The Pint Shop has a separate restaurant area where you can enjoy their famous Sunday roasts or throughout the week the other great dishes they have. At the bar you can get hold of homemade sausage rolls and scotch eggs as well as some lunch grub.
If you like gin then this is the place for you. They have in excess of 60 gins with a menu just for them, so they are bound to have one that you will enjoy, in addition, they also have a variety of gin based cocktails available.
