The Old Bicycle Shop, was one of the oldest bicycle shops in Cambridge which after over 170 years of business closed its doors. However, sensing an opportunity to keep some of the city's heritage alive in a different form the City Pub Company re-opened it earlier this year and it is bringing craft beer to the people alongside some great food and cocktail options.
There are eight keg lines and four cask lines and a number of crafty cans that are available for you to enjoy. The keg lines regularly have breweries such as Siren and Cloudwater on offer alongside some of the beers brewed by their sister pub the Cambridge brewhouse. Crafty cans are on offer from Beavertown, Moor beer Co and Fourpure.
The food is amazing! fantastic and plenty of vegan options with my personal favourite being the miso aubergine quinoa, sweet potato and beetroot salad. It is big, filling and makes you want to come back for me. For the non-veggies/vegans there are also meat options available. Either way the food is great making the Old Bicycle Shop a place worth visiting just to eat at.
Cocktails - A great menu of cocktails which are all cycling related, including Lance's Lemonade and Beat the Bonk. They also have their own cider brewed for them. In addition, there are great homemade ice teas if you want something that isn't alcoholic. If there is a larger group of you there are function rooms upstairs that can be booked for you to enjoy.
I really love the atmosphere, food and craft beers at the Old Bicycle Shop, so if you are near Parkers Piece and fancy a bit of a slower pace why not stop in and take some time for yourself.
